Is it for you?

Who the Control Free Latex Free condoms are for, and who they aren't

It suits you if…

  • You want a polyurethane condom, free from latex.
  • You're looking for an ultra-thin one.
  • A nominal width of 58 mm suits you.
  • You prefer one that comes already lubricated, with a teat end.

Better look elsewhere if…

  • You prefer an opaque condom. These are clear.
  • You want a latex one. These are polyurethane.
  • You need a narrower width. These are 58 mm, so compare them with the ones you already use.

Step by step

How to use Control Free Latex Free Condoms

  1. Check the expiry date on the box and that the wrapper is intact.
  2. Open the wrapper with your fingers, from the edge. No scissors or teeth, so you don't tear the condom.
  3. Pinch the tip so no air is trapped, and place the condom on the erect penis.
  4. Roll it down to the base. If it won't roll down, it's inside out: throw it away and take a new one.
  5. Hold the base as you withdraw, before the erection goes, so it doesn't stay inside.

After use

They're single-use: don't wash or reuse them. After use, tie a knot in it and put it in the bin, not down the toilet.

Our tips

  • These steps and tips are general practice for any condom, not the manufacturer's instructions. Please also read the directions on the box.
  • Use a new one every time you have sex and don't wear two at once: the friction between them can make them break.
  • Keep them away from heat and friction. They get damaged in a wallet.
  • We haven't confirmed which additional lubricants can be used with them. If you want to add one, check the directions on the box first.
  • If you notice itching or irritation, stop using them.

What the science says

What the science says about ultra-thin polyurethane condoms

The studies we cite did not test Control Free Latex Free Condoms. The trial we include compared other ultra-thin polyurethane condoms with a latex one.

300
heterosexual couples aged 18 to 45 in California

In a crossover trial, the ultra-thin polyurethane condoms had more total failures (breakage and slippage) than the control latex condom, although all had low rates.
