Teddies
A teddy is one-piece erotic lingerie: it covers the torso like a body, but with plunging necklines, sheer panels and cut-outs designed to show it off. When choosing among teddies, get the size right because the fit is close, and check whether it has a snap closure at the crotch.

What is a teddy?
A teddy is a full-body piece of lingerie that combines the coverage of a body with the intent of erotic lingerie. It covers the torso, but with deep necklines, open sides, decorative straps and cut-outs that frame the bust and hips, often in sheer fabrics. They come in lace, tulle, mesh and satin, with bows, metal rings or decorative chains. Well chosen, it is comfortable to wear and easy to take off when the moment comes.
Differences between teddy, body and bodysuit
In practice the three names overlap, but there are nuances. The body can be underwear to wear under clothes as well as erotic lingerie. The teddy is always erotic: lower-cut, almost always more sheer and with details that make it unsuitable as an under-clothes garment. About two thirds of the ones on this page are lace, mesh or fishnet, but there are also opaque ones, such as the two that Subblime sells as an opaque teddy or the Me-Seduce Caprice, in faux leather. Bodysuit is the general term covering both. If you prefer something loose that doesn't cling, look at babydolls; if you want to cover legs and arms too, catsuits.
Types of teddies
The best-selling teddies come in three styles. The first is black lace with a snap closure at the back, a style that flatters every silhouette. The second is sheer mesh with adjustable straps, with a second-skin effect. The third is harness style, with crossed straps over the torso and a bondage-chic look. There are also models open at the bust or crotch, with garter straps, in fishnet or with sequins, and sets that include a thong or robe. Sizes run from XS to 4XL.
How to choose
- Size: a teddy fits close, so check the size on the product page and, if it gives measurements, compare them with your bust and hip measurements. Many models come in one size or in S/M and L/XL.
- Fastening: the product page says whether it has a snap closure at the crotch, which lets you go to the bathroom without taking it off, and whether it fastens at the back.
- Fabric: when the product page gives the composition, elastane or spandex means the fabric stretches and adapts to the body. There are also a few leather models.
- Coverage: opaque, sheer or open at the bust and crotch (cupless and crotchless). The photos and description show it.
- What's included: some come with a thong, robe or garter belt; the product page says which pieces are in the pack.
Teddies: frequently asked questions
How do I choose between a teddy and a babydoll?
It depends on whether you want to show off or suggest. The teddy is fitted and defines the silhouette; the babydoll is loose and falls from the bust. The teddy needs you to get the size right, while the babydoll forgives a size or two either way.
Are teddies comfortable?
Yes, especially mesh and satin ones, which you can wear for hours without a problem. Stiff lace ones or those with metal rings are more for a specific moment.
Can you wear a teddy under clothes?
Usually not. With its necklines, sheer panels and trims, it is made to be shown off; if you want something to go under clothes, look at bodies.
Are there plus size teddies?
Yes. There are models in L/XL and others designed for plus sizes, and in plus size you will find more lingerie for curves.
