Glyde Ultra pack of 100: what you need to know before you buy
Is it for you?
Who Glyde Ultra condoms are for, and who they're not for
It suits you if…
- You want vegan condoms registered with the Vegan Society.
- You want a pack of 100 so you don't have to keep buying small boxes.
- You prefer lubricated, unflavoured condoms with a standard shape.
- You like condoms with a natural colour and no dyes.
Better look elsewhere if…
- You want flavoured condoms. These are unflavoured.
- You want textured or specially shaped condoms. These have a standard shape.
- You only want a few to try. This pack contains 100.
Our usage tips
How to use Glyde Ultra condoms
- Open the packet with your fingers, without using teeth, scissors or fingernails, to avoid damaging the condom.
- Pinch the reservoir tip to keep air out.
- Roll it down your erect penis to the base, before any genital contact.
Storage
Use each condom once only. Tie a knot in it, wrap it in tissue and put it in the bin. Don't flush it down the toilet. Store unused condoms somewhere cool and dry, away from sunlight.
Our tips
- If you want extra lubricant, use a water-based lubricant: it's suitable for condoms made from any material.
- Use a new condom each time you have sex and whenever you switch from vaginal to anal sex or vice versa.
- Don't use two condoms at once: friction between them can cause them to break.
- Check the expiry date and don't use a condom if its packet is torn or damaged.
- Stop using them if you notice itching or irritation.
What the science says
What research says about condom materials
The studies we cite did not test these condoms. They looked at how condoms perform depending on the material they're made from.
In a crossover trial, ultrathin polyurethane condoms had more failures, counting both breakage and slippage, than the latex condom they were compared with, although rates were low for all condoms tested.
