Is it for you?
Who the Pjur Woman Vegan is for, and who it isn't for
It suits you if…
- You want a water-based lubricant without glycerin or preservatives.
- You want a vegan product with the Vegan Society trademark.
- You use latex condoms or silicone toys and need a lubricant that works well with both.
- You lack natural lubrication and want an everyday lubricant, which is the use the manufacturer intends.
Better look elsewhere if…
- You want a flavoured one. It is made without fragrance or added flavours.
- Your skin or mucous membrane is irritated or broken. The manufacturer asks that it is used on intact skin and mucous membrane only.
- You are looking for protection against pregnancy. It is not a contraceptive or a spermicide.
- You are allergic to any of its ingredients. Check the list before using it.
Step by step
How to use the Pjur Woman Vegan
- Apply as much as you like to the intimate area, on the vulva, vagina or penis.
- With a condom, put it on first, then spread the lubricant on the outside.
- Use whatever you take out of the bottle only once. The manufacturer asks that it is not reused.
- If you have put on too much, wash it off with lukewarm water.
- Store it at room temperature and away from sunlight.
After use
Most of it is absorbed by the top layer of the skin. Any excess can be removed with lukewarm water.
Manufacturer's warnings

- If the irritation does not go away, see a doctor.
- Keep out of the reach of children.

What the science says
What the science says about water-based lubricants
The studies we cite did not test this lubricant. What has been studied is the use of lubricant and the difference between water-based and silicone-based ones.
For 5 weeks they recorded in a diary how they got on with one of six water-based or silicone lubricants. Water-based ones were associated with fewer genital symptoms than silicone ones, and both types with more pleasure and sexual satisfaction. This is an association, not proof of cause and effect.
