Catsuits
A catsuit is a one-piece erotic garment that covers the whole body like a second skin, from the neck or shoulders to the ankles. Fishnet or mesh ones are also called bodystockings. To choose, look first at the fabric and whether it has an opening at the crotch, then at the size.

What is a catsuit?
It is a close-fitting one-piece garment that shows off the whole silhouette and leaves little to the imagination. In this category every style is a bodystocking in fishnet, net or stretch mesh, many with lace, embroidery or sheer panels, and most have an opening at the crotch. Almost all are by Passion and one size; the few by Leg Avenue include one in size 1X-2X. If you want something that covers only the torso, look at bodysuits or teddies; if you only want to cover the legs, try tights.
Types of catsuits
The fabric, the pattern and the opening change from one style to the next.
- Fishnet and net: the classic bodystocking, with large or small diamonds, which shows the skin all over.
- Mesh and lace: denser, with embroidery or floral lace that covers some areas and leaves others sheer.
- Crotchless: around seven in ten styles have an open crotch (crotchless), so you don't need to take it off for sex.
- Suspender or dress effect: patterns that imitate a suspender belt with stockings, crossed straps or a short skirt woven into the same piece.
- Vinyl, wet-look and latex: there are none here, because every style is net or mesh and none has a zip. If you want that shiny, more fetish finish, see fetish and leather.
Care
Fishnet and fine lace snag on nails, rings and Velcro, so put it on without rushing. Wash it as the label says; if it doesn't say anything, hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild soap and air dry it, without wringing it out or putting it in the tumble dryer.
How to choose
- Fabric: fishnet or net if you want the skin to show; dense mesh or lace if you prefer a bit more coverage.
- Opening: the description says whether the crotch is open; if it doesn't mention it, assume it is closed. None has a zip.
- Size: almost all are one size; if the product page gives a range or a size chart, compare it with your own measurements.
- Composition: the product pages that list it show nylon or polyamide with some elastane (spandex), which is what gives it stretch.
- Coverage: check whether it goes up to the neck, whether it has sleeves or whether it leaves the shoulders and back bare.
Catsuits: frequently asked questions
How do you put on a catsuit without a struggle?
Sit down and roll it up like tights before putting your feet in. Wet-look and fishnet ones are the easiest because the fabric is stretchy and they go on like leggings, legs first and then you work your way up. Vinyl or PVC ones need talc on the skin to slide, and latex ones need silicone lubricant or talc on the inside.
Do catsuits have an opening for going to the toilet?
Most do: around seven in ten have a permanent opening at the crotch (crotchless). None has a zip, so with the rest you will have to take it off completely. Check the photos and the description before buying.
What is the difference between a catsuit and a bodystocking?
Almost none. Both are one piece and cover the whole body; bodystocking is mostly used for fishnet, net or mesh ones, which are like tights that go up to the shoulders.
What size should I choose if the catsuit is one size?
You don't have to choose: fishnet and mesh are stretchy and the garment adapts to the body. If you usually wear larger sizes, look for styles marked 1X-2X or see the plus size section.
Can you wear a catsuit with another garment over it?
Yes. Fishnet ones look good with a bodysuit, a bra or a short dress over the top, so you cover only what you want.
