G-Spot Vibrators

A G-spot vibrator has a curved tip designed to press on the front wall of the vagina, where the G-spot is, and you can use it solo or with a partner. To choose, look first at the curve and the thickness of the part that goes inside; then decide whether you also want clitoral stimulation or a tip that moves.

What is a G-spot vibrator?

It is a vibrator with a curved or angled tip, designed to reach the G-spot. This area is a patch of spongy tissue on the front wall of the vagina, about 5-7 cm from the entrance. Unlike a straight vibrator, the angled tip applies direct pressure to it. To the touch, the area feels firmer than the tissue around it. In many women it responds to steady stimulation with deep orgasms and, in many cases, with female ejaculation.

Types of G-spot vibrators

Among the best-known models are the Lelo Gigi 2, the high-end reference; the We-Vibe Rave 2, adjustable and app-controlled; the Pillow Talk Sassy, the best value for money; the Satisfyer Curvy, which combines suction and G-spot stimulation; and the Fun Factory Tiger, with ridges on the outside.

  • Classic curve: fixed angled tip and vibration. They are the simplest and cheapest.
  • With a “come hither” motion: the tip moves back and forth, imitating the movement of a finger, which is the most effective stimulation for the G-spot.
  • G-spot rabbit: they combine the internal curve with an arm that stimulates the clitoris on the outside; if dual stimulation matters most to you, also take a look at rabbit vibrators.
  • With suction: they add a nozzle for the clitoris; if that is all you are after, there are clitoral suction toys.
  • With heat: they warm up, and some let you adjust the temperature.
  • Flexible: the shaft bends so you can adjust the angle to your body.
  • Rigid steel: they give the greatest precision when you press, ideal if you already know exactly where your G-spot is. There are two here, the Inez and the Olga by LELO, in stainless steel; the Olga weighs 650 g and can be used from either end. There are none in glass, and almost all the others are silicone, which gives a little more.
  • With remote or app: they are controlled from a distance or from your phone, like remote-controlled toys.

What the studies say

Almost all studies look at vibrators in general, not G-spot vibrators specifically. A survey of 2,056 women found that recent vibrator use was linked to several aspects of sexual function, such as desire, arousal, lubrication and orgasm. Those who used one scored higher on most of them (Herbenick et al., 2009, J Sex Med). It is a survey, so it shows an association and not that the vibrator is the cause.

A small trial involved 20 urogynaecology patients with sexual dysfunction and pelvic floor problems. Using the vibrator on a scheduled basis was associated with positive experiences in sexual function, pelvic floor health and mood (Leong et al., 2026, Am J Obstet Gynecol).

Safety and care

With a silicone toy, use water-based lubricant, because a silicone-based one can damage the surface. Steel or glass toys work with any lubricant, but they do not give, so start by pressing gently. The area is delicate. In a study with 224 participants, those who said their G-spot had been stimulated during sex reported bleeding during or after it more often than those who had not (Wang et al., 2012, PLoS One). That study does not look at toys. Even so, it is sensible to go gently, with lubricant and with a clean toy. If you feel pain or bleed, stop, and seek advice if it happens again.

How to choose

  • Curve: a pronounced tip presses harder; a gentle curve is easier to start with.
  • Size: the product page gives the insertable length and the diameter; if it is your first, go for something slimmer.
  • Material: silicone is soft and easy to clean; steel is firmer and more precise. If the product page does not state the material, ask before you buy.
  • Water: “fully waterproof (submersible)” is fine for the shower or bath; “water-resistant” or “splashproof” only withstands a little water.
  • Features: check whether the product page lists a moving tip, heat, suction or a clitoral arm.
  • Control: buttons on the handle, remote control or app, depending on whether you use it solo or with a partner.

Frequently asked questions

Do all women have a G-spot?

Yes, all women have the G-spot area, which is spongy tissue surrounding the urethra. In a study of 1,500 women it was found in all of them, localised in 58% and diffuse in 42% (Thabet, 2013, J Obstet Gynaecol Res). What varies is sensitivity: some respond strongly from the first time, others need several sessions to “wake it up”, and others enjoy it less than clitoral stimulation.

How do I find my G-spot?

Insert a finger with your palm facing up and make a “come hither” motion about 5-7 cm deep. The area feels slightly more ridged or spongy than the tissue around it. A curved vibrator makes this much easier, because it presses at just the right angle without you having to strain your hand.

Can a G-spot vibrator cause squirting?

Yes, it can. Intense, sustained G-spot stimulation is the most reliable method for female ejaculation, although not all women experience it. A vibrator with a “come hither” motion and clitoral stimulation at the same time improves the chances; keep a towel or a waterproof sheet to hand.

How is it different from a rabbit vibrator?

It comes down to where the focus lies. A G-spot vibrator concentrates on the internal curve; a rabbit splits the stimulation between inside and the clitoris. There are G-spot models with a clitoral arm that sit somewhere in between.

Is it suitable for the prostate?

No. It is designed for the vagina and most do not have a wide base, which is what you need to use a toy anally without risk. For the prostate there are specific models among the anal toys.

Can I use it with a partner?

Yes. Remote-controlled or app-controlled ones let your partner control it, and there are models designed for use during penetration among the couples' vibrators.

How do I clean my G-spot vibrator?

With warm water and mild soap or a toy cleaner, before and after use, and let it air dry. If it is not fully waterproof (submersible), do not soak it or put it under running water: wipe it with a damp cloth. Do not boil it, because it contains a motor and a battery.
