Massage Candles: Heat, Aroma, and Oil in One Ritual

Massage candles are lit like any candle, but their wax melts at a low temperature (40-45°C), turning into warm oil that can be poured directly onto the skin without the risk of burns. They transform an ordinary massage into a sensory ritual with heat, aroma, and touch. Over 120 options available.

How to Use a Massage Candle

Light the candle 15-20 minutes beforehand to accumulate enough liquid oil. Pour from a height of 15-20 cm onto the back, chest, or thighs. Spread with your hands while massaging. The most common formulas combine soy or coconut wax with essential oils: vanilla, sandalwood, cherry blossom, chocolate, jasmine. Brands: Shunga, Bijoux Indiscrets, Lelo Flickering Touch, Kama Sutra Ignite.

Frequently Asked Questions About Massage Candles

Do massage candles burn?

No. Massage candles melt at 40-45°C, well below the temperatures of regular decorative candles (60-80°C). The liquid wax feels warm when it falls on the skin, not hot. Still, always pour from a distance of 15-20 cm and test first on the back of your hand.

Can regular candles be used for massage?

No. Conventional decorative candles melt at much higher temperatures and can cause burns. Only use candles specifically formulated for body massage — they are made with low melting point waxes and skin-safe oils.
